What is Magic – I
The challenge with “magic” is that much of what we read in fantasy is so, well, fantastical that we develop a definition of magic that is roughly translated as: “magic is the ability to do things you can’t do in real life.” This is my least favorite definition, and I love encouraging people to shift to another one. This one is a dead end.
